Gore Creek Report
April 4, 2021
FLOW: 40.0 cfs (Above Red Sandstone Creek, Vail)
WATER CONDITIONS: Clear
FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Midges, BWO, Beatis, Annelids
THE LOW DOWN: Gore Creek is fishing great! Fish are moving around and actively feeding in lanes and riffles. Light nymph rigs or even a dry drop rig is the way to go. Small beaded attractors with small midges or BWOs trailing, or your favorite dry attractor followed by a beaded midge or mayfly is the setup.
Appropriate Patterns
DRIES: Para Adams 18-22, Stacker BWO 18-22, Griffith Gnat 18-22, Stimulator 14-18
NYMPHS: BH Pheasant Tail 16-20, Hare’s Ear 16-20, Zebra Midge 20-24, RS2 20-24, Black Beauty 20-24,
STREAMERS: Slump Buster 8, Wooley Bugger 10
HINTS: We are not seeing any terrestrials just yet, but fish on the Gore can be very opportunistic. Don’t put all your eggs in that basket, but also, don’t be surprised if you see one rise for a good sized attractor dry.
